Over ten years ago, Chamah published a book, entitled “Torah and Spiritual Survival”, edited by Aryeh Ben-Efraim. This was the first time that a commentary to the 54 chapters of the Five Books of Moses was given in the Russian language.

The book has been well received by the public and with a positive response among high authorities of Jewish edict, with the only wish that such a book should be explained on a broader scale.

This book which you are holding in your hand, “Conversations on the Weekly Chapter of the Torah” is this long-awaited publication among the Russian Jewish community. It is designed for a beginner who is looking to understand the basics of the Torah and for those who want to enrich their knowledge in Torah and Judaism.

The commentary of “The Five Books of Moses” is given in three variations and includes the following:

– The exact understanding of the text

– a deeper analysis of the structure and nuance of the text and the allegoric association with interpretation of the text.

– The interpretation of the hidden meaning based on Kabala.

In the basics of the book, the groundwork of the Articles has been laid by Rabbi B. Rubinson and I. Silber which has been published in the international Jewish magazine Alef, published 1981-1990.

The basis of the written material of this book was the Tanach, Talmud, Midrash, Kabala and the Chassidic teachings. This will contribute in drawing the Russian language readers to our holy Torah, history and tradition. It will strengthen their ties with the historical sources of the Jewish people.
