INTRODUCTION

For a long time there is a great need in the book of Jewish stories in different languages, which are strictly adhered to the spirit of the Scriptures , that is so necessary for Jewish schools and for home reading . Especially felt this need wherever they see fit to have a textbook of Jewish history , free from distortion and atheistic tendencies reduce the sanctity of the Torah.

To this end, Merkaz l'ineney HaChinuch undertook the publication of this and subsequent volumes of the history of our people, the Jewish history textbooks are acceptable to all Jewish schools, including and eshivot and Talmud Torah schools , as well as for home reading a book in families where zealously followed the tradition of the people. This tutorial is acceptable there because it meets the spirit of loyalty to the sacred heritage of our nation , and also because it accentuated instructive value of our history , and finally , due to its clear and understandable for all presentation .

New in this tutorial (as it may be called " innovation ") is that the presentation of Bible stories in these volumes complemented by other traditional sources such as the Talmud and the Midrash .

Throughout the material set out in this book permeates the idea of Divine Providence that guides the destiny of our people, and leads to the conclusion that this fate is closely linked with the great mission and the task assigned to us as a "kingdom of priests and a holy nation "; task, mandatory not only for our nation as a whole , but also for each of his sons and daughters separately. Thanks to all this , every Jewish child , studying Jewish history in this tutorial , feel the pride and dignity of knowing that he was a Jew or Jewess . Better understanding the true meaning of the story of his past , the child will be able to more fully appreciate and understand the meaning of historical events in our daily lives and our future. This will allow our children when they grow up, find the correct answer to the many complex Matters V occupying the best minds of our contemporaries.
