The stories of Queen Esther, which we offer, much like the story outlined in Megillat Esther. Strictly speaking, this it is. But with significant details and additions which are drawn from the Talmud and Midrash - a collection of parables and stories compiled by the sages.

Many midrashic not be taken literally, since they often say allegories, however, contain a deeper meaning, often more important than that which lies on the surface of the plot. Midrash, also called the Haggadah (narrative) - is an addition to halacha * - Jewish law, giving it greater visibility.
