The volume includes a reprint of A.S. Tager's «Tsarist Russia and the Case of Beylis» (appeared in 1933, repr. 2 ed., 1934), an essay by V. Rogovin, A. Tager's grandson, V. Korolenko's appeal «To Russian Society. Regarding a Bloody Calumny on Jews», papers by contemporary Jewish historians, illustrations and other materials which help to study the important event in the political life of Russia at the beginning of the 20th century — the case of Mendel Beylis, who was charged of a «ritual murder» of a Christian boy — Andrey Yushchinsky.

The discussion on religious problems and the problem of «ritual murders cornmited by Jews» is considered which took place during the «case of Bcyl is». A wide context of religious and philosophical arguments in the spheres of Russian intellectuals is also taken into account.
