Galut, Geula and a Jewish State

The two ancestral and closely related concepts of Jewish history - "Galut" (expulsion) and "Geula" (rescuing) now, after almost two millennia break, was added the third - the Jewish state. What dreams dozens of generations, scattered all over the diaspora of the world happened today. And we, the Jews, is now their sovereign state with its government, its parliament, its army, its own laws.

It seemed that was the end of two thousand years of the anomaly and the cherished goal is achieved. But in real life much more difficult.

The greatest in our history, a fact the revival of Israel, deciding a number of fundamental problems, spawned a series of new ones.

This collection of articles - "Galut, Geula and the Jewish state" - the first in Russian book on this subject. It introduces the history issue, the views of our ancient sages, the Kabbalists, the leaders of Hasidism, prominent public figures, shows the first steps of settlers in the land of Eretz Yisrael. Prominent place given in the book as some topical problems of modernity, but the views of the authors do not always coincide.
