Marek Edelman - the head of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1943 - published a book "And there was love in the ghetto." It is his story (written by Paula Savitskaya the period from January to November 2008) about life in the ghetto, that - as he himself says - "and there in inhumane conditions, people have experienced great moments." Edelman believes that it is necessary, following the commandments of the Old Testament, to teach (especially youth) to the fact that "evil - an evil, hate - the evil, and love - duty." And his book - a lesson in a bright, naive form and therefore produces the reader an unusually strong impression.
The book includes a preface by renowned Polish writer Jacek Bohenskogo, Edelman speech at the conference "Polish Memory - Jewish memory" in June 1995 and a list of people mentioned in the book with a summary of each.
