  The present study is the first documentary in Jewish historiography of the Moscow community. The bulk of the documents found in public and private archives in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Many of them are first introduced to the scientific revolution.
    The main purpose of the book - to give the reader a complete picture of protssse formation of the Jewish community in Moscow, the construction and opening of the synagogue, active participants and spiritual leaders of this period.
