Collection of articles, "Yad Vashem: research, dedicated to various aspects of the Holocaust and its history, is published twice yearly by the National Memorial of the Holocaust and Heroism," Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. He first saw the light in 1957 and became the first periodical devoted to the Holocaust of European Jewry. Since then, the collection is produced in parallel in two languages, Hebrew and English ("Yad Vashem Studies"). On its pages, published works as leading experts and young researchers from Israel and other countries, materials of scientific discussions and reviews of new books related to the Holocaust.
This year, the publisher has taken the first edition collection of essays by the Yad Vashem: study "in Russian.
This collection (issue number 2) consists of ten articles on global issues related to the Holocaust, as well as articles covering various aspects of the Holocaust on Soviet territory.
The authors of the collection - the leading researchers in this field, and some of the articles presented here have become classics of the historiography of the Holocaust. Six of them were previously published in the Proceedings of Yad Vashem: studies in Hebrew and English, four - in a number of other publications of the National Memorial of the Holocaust and Heroism. The book, in particular, explores such topics as the origins of the "final solution" to the Jewish question (Shaul Esh, Shaul Friedlander, Christopher Browning), World War II and the Holocaust (Gerhard Weinberg), Jews in the armed forces (Israel Gutman, Yitzhak Arad, Mordechai Altshuler); unarmed resistance against the Nazis (Meir Dvorzhetsky) and the use of Jews for forced labor in the East (Bella Gutterman, Anton Weiss-Wendt).
