Elena Makarova and Sergei Makarov. "Ya - btuzhdayuschiy rebenok... Deti I uchitelya v terezinskom getto" (I'm a Wandering Child... Children and Teachers in Terezin Ghetto), Publishing House Mosty Kul'tury (Bridges Of Culture), Moscow - Jerusalem, 2004.
The second book by Jerusalem authors Elena and Sergei Makarov from the series "Kre-post' nad bezdnoy" (A Fortress Over the Chasm) opened in 2003 by "Terezin Diaries," is dedicated to children and teachers in Terezin ghetto/concentration camp in 1941 -1945.
This documentary monograph is commenced by a general article portraying children's life in this Nazi's assumed "Exemplary Jewish settlement", where thousands of children were incarcerated with or without their parents. The second section dwells upon literature produced in camp by both boys and girls, including their hand-written and drawn magazines, verses and a play. In a special section, "Friedl's Lessons", the authors show children's drawings and describe activities of Friedl Dicker-Brandeis (1898 -1944), outstanding Bauhaus school artist and teacher in Terezin. The children's theater section is followed by the last part of the book documenting several fates of children survivors, residing now in the US, Israel and other countries.
