This book in its broadest sense could be called a midrash, that is, some are not bound by a rigid form, reflections on the Torah, written reflections, as it were on its fields. However, this form is in itself a little more about what he says.

In these reflections I equally use both classical and traditional midrashic commentary, and various instructive stories from his own life. All in all it is intended to express as a general approach of Judaism to reveal his "general line". However, it is essential immediately stipulated that any Jew can bring in other midrashic and streamline the same classic commentary fundamentally different and, of course, involving perhaps no less instructive stories from his personal life. It may be different in many, if not all, the general concept of Judaism, I'm in between those previously found not less Jewish than his own. Unifying the Jews is not so much loyalty to a unified metaphysical system, how much loyalty to a single vocation, fidelity to the obligations assumed by their fathers at Mount Sinai: "All that the LORD had said we will do" (Exodus 19.8). In solidarity Shomrey Shabbat (Sabbath store "), a shared responsibility of all Jews of all generations before the sky - this is likely one can see the main nerve of Judaism.

Those are my notes in the margins of the Torah, which represent over this book - this is just one of the Faces of Torah, and perhaps why it is not so much to it (the book) its own name as the name of a particular genre. Panim le-Torah, Faces of the Torah - is the one and only Torah, presented as a gallery of refraction in selected Jewish souls. Judaism - this is not a worldview, not geological systems, this is what is called the Oral Torah, ie, existence of the Torah among the people of Israel, in the mouths of the people of Israel.

Traditional midrash, a traditional commentary claim on the expression of Judaism as something whole, meanwhile, at least since the time of Lurie anskoy Kabbalah when he first came, that the Torah six hundred thousand faces, for the most tradition was as would be necessary to take into account the uniqueness of each these faces, ie take into account the position of every Jew!

The fact that I choose from the traditions of Judaism, as I interpret it and how to weave in their personal "theme" of all this is just only one of the faces of the Torah, but that's why the face of this, with all its "arbitrariness" of the claim to absolute authenticity the very same Torah that God "laid the way he (Mishlei 8.22), ie of the Torah, through which Vsesvit-one, blessed be He, created their own world.
