The famous American surgeon and professor of medicine and bioethics at Yale University, Sherwin B. Nuland dedicated this book to my colleague, who lived more than eight centuries ago - Moshe ben Maimon (1135-1204), better known in Europe as Maimonides.
Being a truly universal scholar, Maimonides established itself as an authority in various fields of knowledge: Halachic law, Greek philosophy, medicine, law.
His ability to plain language describe above, dropping with the secondary, was the reason that many of his works have not lost relevance to this day.
However, rapid, uneventful life, unquenchable thirst for knowledge, breadth of scientific interests, the rejection of superstition of his time - all this makes Mamonides this harbinger of the Renaissance.
