Rav Soloveitchik for decades on the eve of Days of Awe gave a public lecture on teshuvah - repentance. These lectures attracted thousands of listeners, and had a major influence on several generations of American Jews. Some of these performances, reverently recorded and processed by Rabbi P. sang and made a real book.
Pinchas Hacohen Peli (1930-1989) was born and raised in Jerusalem. He studied in yeshivas in Jerusalem and the Hebrew University. After graduating and receiving his doctorate he taught at various educational institutions in Israel, the U.S., Argentina, and even Japan. For many years he was a professor of Jewish thought and literature in Beer-Sheva University. Ben Gurion University.
Much of their time and talents Pinchas Peli dedicated journalism and literary work. For five years he led a popular weekly column about the section of the Torah in the Jerusalem Post newspaper. He has written dozens of books, articles, essays, many of which have been translated into the major European languages and Japanese. An important place in his creativity short stories and poems.
In whatever part of the world or worked Pinchas Peli, on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, he tried to prove to the U.S. to attend the annual traditional lecture on teshuvah (repentance), which read Rabbi Yosef Ber Soloveitchik. Recorded on magnetic tape lectures throughout the year was subjected to repeated thoughtful study. The result of a deep understanding of Rav Soloveitchik's lectures and is the book, released first in English and then in Hebrew.
