"Message to Teyman" intended to Yemen from Cairo in 1172, was intended to provide spiritual support to Jews in this country and was a response to a letter from the head of the community Rabbi Yaakov Alfayumi. The Jews of Yemen was going through at that time a deep crisis, which had three main reasons: the cruel persecution of the Jewish faith, a departure from the strict part of the community are working on the Torah and the appearance of a false prophet, whose preaching the imminent coming of the Messiah some disoriented, bringing in their hearts doubt and confusion.
"Message to Teyman" written to "strengthen the hands Exhausted and confirm the feeble knees", reveals the inner meaning of our exile and the universe is in the hearts of Jews hope for deliverance.
This is a letter written almost 1000 years ago, in 1000 after the destruction of the Second Temple, was the guiding light and the "gates of hope," not only for the Jews of Yemen in the old days, but for subsequent generations of our people. It is still relevant in our time - for us. In it we find the interpretation of sacred history-strait separating light on many problems, the correct understanding of which is so necessary to us today.

In the "Message to Teyman" revealed the source of eternal hatred of other people for our people. It is rooted in jealousy, envy in their reinvigorated, with nyavshim-over and carrying the burden of the Torah. This little book - the first translation of a work on the Rambam Russian language. "Message in a Teyman" was written in Arabic. We used a translation into Hebrew, published for the first time in Basel in 1629, belongs to Nahum Maaravi; put it comparable with the translation of a contemporary of Ibn Rambam Tivo-on. Minor in terms of fragments of "messages" contained in the retelling, set in italics.
