Today Is the Birthday of the World

Sounds of the Shofar - ram's horn heralded in all the synagogues of the world approaching Rosh Sean, the New Year. It comes on the first day of the first month (called Tishri). Noting the birthday of the world, we can also talk about the gifts, truly priceless, because they in fact can not be measured in money. Let's reflect on what we call "tikkum olam" - repair of the world, improving the world - and tell about this to our kids. For example, drawing their attention to the fact that the world needs their help. Let them remind their peers, and adults too, do not throw garbage anywhere, carefully close the valve, so it did not flow from the water, do not drive unnecessarily in a car and walk more often, and perhaps plant a tree on your neighbor's or the yard. Let their imagination will work - and will lead to deeds! Today is a special day - the birthday of the world. The day when the Almighty and all His creatures that inhabit the land, celebrate the beauty of life. In this book asks God to turn His creatures, whether they have made on earth that had to do the best possible way. And get an affirmative answer. When each of us, from the mighty elephant to the very tiny baby, so can answer - then this is a real feast! The only sure way to show the world what you can do - try my best without worrying about the award. When the child draws, or planting the plants, or share with someone else sweets and toys, we understand that the same God expects from us and: life is intertwined with the mitzvah - the holy things, motivated by the responsibility or concern for their neighbors.
