One of the most prestigious in Europe was the yeshiva world , founded in 1817 in a remote Polish province near the border with Russia . Thanks to the yeshiva , where students are engaged in different cities and countries, this shtetl became an international community . Young Jews gathered here used only from Poland, Russia and Lithuania , but also from France , Germany, Sweden, England , America and even from South Africa. Rabbi Abraham Kalmanovich , who headed the yeshiva after she moved to the United States , once said that the only country not represented in the World, was China .

When the famed High School for the Study of the Torah , where before the war gathered the most promising Jewish minds , arrived in 1946 in the United States , New York passed it with all solemnity. For students who defended the banner of Jewish teachings in the first years of the war in Poland and Lithuania , and later in Japan and China , the base of the yeshiva in New York City marked the beginning of a new life. Encouraged by the support of his spiritual mentors , these young people have overcome war , hunger, and all sorts of physical and moral dangers . Adjusted to their new peaceful life in America, many of them engaged in conversion of the old and the opening of new centers and institutions of higher Jewish education in the United States. Becoming leaders , mentors , organizers , professionals of the highest level , yesterday's students have made every effort to reform the system of Torah study in the free world .
Miraculous rescue yeshiva world , along with the other escapees partially yeshiva was a Divine means for transferring the eternal Torah from one continent to another , where was to begin a new era of Jewish revival .
