Based on the wide range of sources, the author shows an unusual historical destiny of the Jewish people, primarily Jewish population residing in the territory of the former Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. The book, which presents the first part of the trilogy contains extraordinary thought. Expressed, in particular, the idea that in the XX century in Russia there is a new subethnos - "Russian Jews" - the formation of which does not fit into the framework of simple assimilation.
