Zuss Oppengeimer

The eminence and falling of one of the most known European Jews, on to edge of a tomb restrained arrogance before G-d and belief, has found reflection in the novel "Zuss Opengeimer".

Süss, a Jewish child from a mixed marriage rises to prominence and is eventually appointed to be the Minister of Finance in one of the German kingdoms. He is eventually jailed because of anti-semitism and struggles with the question of Jewish identity.
