This book is the full version of the famous author of the documentary novel "Babi Yar," about the destruction of the Jewish population of Kiev in the autumn of 1941. Anatoly Kuznetsov, then a teenager, he witnessed the executions of Jews in Kiev, many conversations with people who survived the disaster, gathering the memories of other contemporaries and eyewitnesses. For the first time his novel was published in the journal "Youth" in 1966, and even then, despite numerous and flagrant censorship cuts bombshell - so to Kuznetsova about the Holocaust did not dare to write one. However, the way the true story of Babi Yar to the reader was a long and difficult one. In 1969, Anatoly Kuznetsov, secretly took out a full version of the novel in England, where he requested political asylum. A year later, "Babi Yar" was published in the West, in author's edition, but the Russian reader can get acquainted with the text without the notes only after the restructuring.
