Based on the totality of the fate of specific local people affected by unjustified repression, we aim to recreate the overall picture of the terrible period, to preserve as many names and facts that are not gone into oblivion the truth about our past.

The main place in the book is devoted to materials about World War II - the most tragic period in the history of the twentieth century. The authors, based on documents from the personal archives of people whose fate was linked with the city during the war, and the State Archives of Mogilev, Minsk, Germany and Israel, describe the options for the fate of Jews in Mogilev during the war.

The book includes materials, as previously published (including in Germany, USA, Israel, Russia) as well as specially prepared exclusively for this edition.

Separate articles are devoted to the participation of Jews in Mogilev battles on the fronts, the defense and liberation of Mogilev, in the urban underground during the Nazi occupation of the city, guerrilla groups and illegal intelligence service in other countries, struggle and death in the ghettos, the prisons and concentration camps, the Jews of their salvation countrymen, stay in prison or forced labor in Germany and Austria, living in evacuation, as well as certain other matters relating to the history of Mogilev Jews during the war.
