ERJ - the first in world practice the experience of creating encyclopedic publication entirely devoted to Russian Jewry, his destiny, history and role in the life of Russia and other countries. The boundaries of the concepts of "Russia" and "Russia" in the ERJ do not coincide with the current boundaries of the Russian Federation, and correspond to the borders of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union at any given historical period. Chronologically ERJ covers the period since the emergence of Jews in Russia to date.
