The Jewish Community of Lithuania pleased to present the first of a series of books that introduce the teaching of Mussar.
R. Yosef-Yuzl Horowitz, better known in the Jewish people as Saba (grandfather) of Novardoka (Navagrudak), outlined his vision of the world picture in the book "Madregat Aadam" ("Level of Man").
Historical shifts beginning of the XX century that preceded the Holocaust of European Jewry, led to a mass departure of Jews from the Torah. They seemed to create a society of total happiness close and attainable. Saba of Novardoka, a student of the founder of the Mussar Rabbi Yisrael Salanter, his teaching and by his lofty manner was able to answer these illusions of novelty and to maintain its share in the world to tens of thousands in Israel and their descendants.
Our time - time to return to the original sources. Mussar doctrine that makes Gd tangible, is intended to help It gives us strength to change and also that part of the world that is associated with us, and make the reality in which we live, the sublime and refined.
