Intelligent dialogue between religious and non-religious camps, in which they reveal their inner world, trying to understand each other.

About this book

Dear readers!

Here is not an ordinary book. Its authors belong to raznsh worlds - secular and religious, and that means a lot of things they have diametrically opposed views. 'Heme not, however, think that after reading our conversation you will impression that divide us are irreconcilable contradictions. In the most important thing - we are like-minded. But the main thing is, I think, - respect for the human spirit, to morality, to our mission on earth.

Who are we ...? Whence came they? Where are we going? Who wound universal mechanism for the order, which strictly adheres to all things: a man, a tree, a star? Is there any point in our parish in the world? Or are we - lonely fireflies, no one knows what broke out in the pitch darkness and completely extinguished?

In thousands of years of human thought their search for truth has come to two alternative responses: the idea of the divine essence of the universe, and to a much more youthful concept, denying the supreme harmony. From the materialistic point of view, we are familiar with, we are brought up on it, we are taught to use it - and only it - the tools of knowledge. And though this version of life in the eyes of many of us have always been poor, vulnerable, but at the crucial moment before inquiring mind she put a wall, behind which there is no response - the concept of the divine essence seemed beyond common sense. Socialite is a priori not accept any other explanation other than that to which is used to.

But here, in Israel, where even the air and stones bear the stamp of the incredible spiritual energy, "the eternal questions confronting each in a new way and with a special piercing ...

What do we know about the Jewish tradition, the faith, the moral scale, which the Jews brought into the world? Is it possible to build bridges between the secular and the religious camp? Really there is no compromise, and our consciousness is irreversible bred on different sides of comprehension?

Several years ago, the International Organization for Jewish teaching of moral values "Ash ha-Torah" founded the movement "Aviv" - a movement for moral renewal of Israel. On the basis of their joint activities arose unique experiment of religious-secular dialogue. In process. numerous interviews showed a man of his world, his doubts, the rejection of any of the parties of religious dogma. Efim Svirsky, in turn, explained the traditional Jewish view of the world, to life, to care for morality ...

Yefim not impose position - he has information. Accept it or not - the choice each of us. Svirsky refers to the secular man, know what you do not know, think about what was not able to think about ... After all, even denying well understand that it is denying ...

The path of honest questions and honest answers, I think, a more natural way of secular-religious coexistence than smoldering acrimony and cold detachment.

I'd like to hope that the book "Out of the dialogue-gap" will not leave you indifferent readers, will wish to engage in an exchange of views in the debate, so - will serve as a spiritual enrichment.
